Favourites

What is your favourite animal? How are you a kaitiaki – guardian for that animal? What do you do to help protect and look after it?

We compared a Giant Kauri Snail to a Tui in this episode.  Print off the PDF to make your own comparisons.
And have a think about all the other creatures of NZ that aren’t so pretty or cute. What can we do to ensure they’re protected and looked after?

Patterns

We are surrounded by patterns – within nature, within our clothing and the items in our houses, within the buildings and structures around us.
Look for the patterns around you and then create your own, like the ones in the beautiful Samoan Siapo cloth. One PDF has an example of a Siapo cloth and the other a grid for your pattern, if you need one.

Spend or Save

The big question is how much should we spend, or save from the money that we earn. In todays episode we use our math’s muscles to help us find the answer.
Download your own earnings and savings tables.

Word Problem – Part 2.

We enjoyed those Word Problems so much, yesterday, that here are some more cool problems to solve from today’s episode.
Download the PDF of the extra challenge that I gave you at the end of the show and then send me your answer.

Word Problem – Part 1.

We can find opportunities to do maths everywhere. There were some cool maths problems to solve in today’s episode.
Download the PDF of the extra challenge that I gave you at the end of the show.  I’ve given you a head start (a bit of a clue) to solving the problem too.

Mazes

Mazes are a-maze-ing! You can learn so much while having fun.
We have included two downloads so that you can try finding your way through our mazes and there’s a link on the pages to a website with more cool maths things to do.

A timeline shows the order in which things are done. I made a timeline of the things I do during the day.  The PDF has a simple timeline for you to draw some of the things you do in your day.  Print off as many copies as you need or create your own timeline with a blank piece of paper.
